Abstract

This study examined decentering and defusion as moderators of the association between anticipatory/post-event processing and social anxiety. Students (N=444) completed questionnaires assessing decentering, defusion, anticipatory/post-event processing, and social anxiety. Moderate and high levels of decentering reduced the link between anticipatory/post-event processing and social anxiety; defusion interacted with anticipatory processing only.
