Abstract

Across three experiments and three bilingual populations (N = 513), we find the first reliable evidence for a First Language Effect (FLE). Using the Implicit Association Test (IAT), we observed that implicit attitudes aligned participants’ earliest childhood language, indicating that Implicit Social Cognition is stably rooted in early childhood experience.
