Mindfulness and Its Training Promote Positive Interpersonal Outcomes

This symposium considers the positive interpersonal outgrowths of mindfulness, a receptive attention to present-moment experience, and its training. Experiments highlight that mindfulness training attenuates self-related cognitive biases and retaliatory aggression and enhances prosociality toward outgroup members. Discussion focuses on the benefits of mindfulness and related practices to our social lives.
