Resilience and Posttraumatic Growth in Families with Pediatric Cancer Experience
This symposium explores the development of resilience and post-traumatic growth (PTG) in pediatric cancer patients and families. We show that: (1) Successful coping with post-traumatic stress and depression predicts PTG and resilient outcomes over time, and (2) PTG, social connectedness, and social competence promote resilient functioning in patients and survivors.
