Understanding the Persistent Gender Gap: New Evidence of Gender Biases From Developmental and Social Psychology

Friday, May 25, 2018 · San Francisco, CA

Oral · Social

This symposium spotlights new findings regarding women’s continued underrepresentation in high-status professions: we examine the early impact of gender stereotypes on girls’ interests, the way people speak about male and female professionals differently, the effects of gender role mindsets on system-justification, and how campaigns like #iLookLikeAnEngineer can weaken STEM stereotypes.
