Classic and Behavioral Models of Risky Choices: Rationality, Irrationality, or Bounded Rationality?

Friday, May 25, 2018 · San Francisco, CA

Oral · Cognitive

Experimentally proven discrepancies between actual behaviors and the classic concept of rationality point to its psychological inaccuracy. Alternative approaches that include sensitivity to low-probability catastrophic events, costs of information processing and individual differences in aspirations or optimism, and their relation to e.g. behavioral finance or climate change will be discussed.
