The Psychology of Harming Others: The Role of Concern for Victims in Motivating Reconciliatory Efforts
After committing a transgression, the perpetrating party faces an important decision regarding how to respond to the victimized party. What factors influence this response? In this symposium, we describe how feelings of concern for the victimized party play a powerful role in promoting reparative responses that can promote reconciliation.
