Intrinsic, Extrinsic, and Achievement Motivation in the Work Place

The dichotomy of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation has been a long lasting tradition but the concepts have often been confused. Thus, we will clarify and expand the concepts. We propose a trichotomy by adding achievement motivation. We predict that an ideal life would include the fulfillment of all three types.
