Self-Regulatory Benefits and Antecedents of Goal Disengagement: Perspectives From Motivational Science
This symposium includes five presentations examining self-regulatory antecedents and benefits of goal disengagement. Motivational scientists from North America and Europe will present new data on the effects (e.g., health) and precursors (e.g., planning, mental contrasting, and setbacks) of goal disengagement. The research will be discussed from a self-regulation perspective.
