Examination of Interactions between Law Enforcement Officials and the African-American Male Population

Abstract

Police officers from a variety of locations were surveyed to measure the influence implicit bias has on interactions with African American male suspects within this current social climate. The findings indicate that officer intimidation is greater with African-American suspects. Implicit bias varied between officer genders, partner status and environmental density.
