„Paul, Read It!“ – the Influence of Self-Determination on Reading Motivation and Reading Comprehension of Primary School Children

Abstract
This study examined the impact of self-determination on reading motivation and reading comprehension. 3rd and 4th graders worked on a reading comprehension test and a questionnaire regarding reading behavior as well as aspects of reading motivation. Results show that girls reported more self-determination in reading and a higher reading frequency.
Motivation
