Never Can Say Goodbye: Personality Correlates of Self-Critical Rumination and Need for Closure in Close Relationships

The study examined the relationship of tendencies for self-critical rumination, Big 5 personality traits and need for closure on recurring thoughts about the sudden end of a relationship whether romantic or friendship. Neuroticism was a significant predictor of need for closure, self-critical rumination and continued thoughts about the relationship.
