Abstract

Self-report, survey data were collected from 954 Latino university students (65.5% women, 18-25 years). Path analyses indicated family cohesion, family flexibility, and family hardiness were indirectly related to happiness through general self-efficacy and positive esteem. Practitioners should promote these dimensions of family social capital when trying to enhance positive adjustment.
