Parental Autonomy Support and Gifted Adolescents’ Academic Achievement, Commitment, and Enjoyment

Abstract

In this two-part study, the association between parental autonomy support (PAS) and academic outcome variables was examined in two groups of adolescents. Results from the studies indicate that students who reported increased PAS were more successful academically, and reported enjoying their studies more compared to individuals with lower PAS.
