Abstract

Social stigma is a pervasive, insidious force impacting the well-being of individuals with mental illnesses and their families. The present meta-analysis explores the impact of family stigma on psychological distress across familial, cultural, and clinical populations. Most notably, a larger effect was found within Eastern cultural populations than other groups.
