Abstract

Empathic paraphrasing denotes empathic responding to others discourse, fascilitating therapeutic change in psychotherapy and representing an effective tool in conflict resolution. While being acknowledged for enhancing an individuals’ viewpoint on others’ perspectives we provide evidence for its applicability as an external emotion regulation strategy feasible of reducing negative emotions.
