Abstract

Self-efficacy impacts ethical behavior and attitudes, but its effect on ethical cognition is as yet unknown. Participants analyzed an ethical dilemma using one of two methods: a cognitive tool and expressive writing, or a control condition, and decision ethicality was compared for participants in high or low self-efficacy conditions.
