Negative Affect, Perceived Stress and Performance on Exam Day: The Role of Self-Regulation

Abstract

49 college women reported 1) trait self-regulation, 2) procrastination behaviors before an exam, and 3) stress and negative affect on exam day. Mediation analyses demonstrate significant indirect effects of self-regulatory challenge on exam-day stress and NA through procrastination, and a significant indirect effect of procrastination on exam scores through NA.
