Abstract

This study investigated how parenting styles and adolescents' temperaments mutually affect Chinese adolescents' depressions. The results showed that the authoritarian parenting style, neglecting parenting style and activation control increased the risk of young adolescents suffering from depression, which provided theoretical foundations for parents and counsellors to reduce children's depressions.
