Differentiating Global from Holistic Cognitive Styles.

Abstract
Are global and holistic cognitive styles the same thing? To empirically distinguish them, we examined Chinese and Canadian students’ performance on 10 global or holistic cognitive tasks. Cultural differences were evident in most holistic tasks, but absent in most global tasks. An EFA on these measures revealed two distinct factors.
