Abstract

We explored how personality and context shapes selfish behavior in a one-shot Prisoner's Dilemma. The Dark Triad predicted defection in the Prisoner's Dilemma and participants were more likely to defect in the loss and the non-social framed Prisoner's dilemma compared to the gain and social conditions, respectively.
