Abstract

Anxious attachment predicts sleep problems. Spousal touch when sleeping together may activate neural reward and relaxation systems, thereby improving sleep. Survey data (N=110 couples) revealed that greater endorsement of frequency and importance of touch when sleeping together predicted fewer sleep problems for husbands, and for wives with low attachment anxiety.
