Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine how cognitive and non-cognitive factors mediate the relationship between childhood trauma and academic performance in African American college students. Results indicate that the effect of trauma on academic performance is mediated through cognitive emotional regulation, mindfulness and self-handicapping.
