Abstract

we present an integrated theoretical framework for conceptualizing and operationalizing age and ability differentiation. Then, we tested for age and ability differentiation using nonlinear factor analysis in a large, nationally representative, longitudinal sample of U.S. children in the early school years (N = 17,969).
