Abstract
What do people mean when reporting their subjective socioeconomic status (SES)? One sample of participants generated terms characterizing their SES; a second sample rated recurring terms. A factor analysis indicated two unique factors—one relating to an easy life, the other to being elite—showing unique associations with other measures.
