Abstract

A collaboration between three children’s museums explored how parent-child conversations while engaging with museum exhibits are related to children’s later play with relevant toys. When coded for exploring and explaining processes, parent-child interactions predicted children’s causal reasoning and creativity during play with toys that were similar to the exhibits.
