Abstract
Sanna and Schwarz’s (2004) reported that students overcame the Overconfidence Effect and the Planning Fallacy by listing reasons they might do poorly in advance of an upcoming exam. The present study failed to replicate these effects, suggesting that the original conclusions should be taken with caution pending further replication efforts.
