Contrasting Information and Correlational Approaches to Determining the Symmetry in Dyadic Behavioral Time Series

A relevant structure in communication is symmetry, or intentional redundancy in communication behaviors. The current study makes use of two approaches which correspond to two separate but related elements of the definition of communication: correlation between behaviors and the transmission of information.
