Abstract

Data from 285 adults infected with a common cold virus showed that subjective status was negatively associated with sleep loss but positively associated with sleep quality and daytime rest. Daily positive and negative affect assessed before infection served as mediators of the relationship between status, sleep quality and daytime rest.
