Effect of a Short-Term Meditation Intervention on Attention and Working Memory

Abstract

To explore the benefits of a 5-day meditation intervention, the Operation Span Task and the Emotional Attention Network Test were used to assess working memory and attentional capacity in college students. Results indicated that short-term meditation practice may improve working memory; however, meditation was not shown to improve attentional capacity.
