Abstract

Using monofilament hairs that were presented either unimodally, or bimodally with conicidentally presented visual cues of varying validities, we psychophysically assessed the hierarchical efficiency of visuo-haptic integration across a range of tactile intensities. Our findings reveal an important interdependency between attentional awareness (as defined by cue predictability) and stimulus saliency.
