Stand By Me: The Benefits of Relational Mentoring

Abstract

This survey study explored the beneficial influence of the mentor-mentee relationship. Participants rated the quality of present, past, or desired mentor characteristics. Those with existing high-quality mentoring relationships were significantly more likely to report higher career aspirations, adaptive coping strategies and college attachment.
