Abstract

This research investigated social anxiety differences of Chinese undergraduates in US. It found students experience higher social anxiety within the first few months. Language proficiency, personal interests, and community involvement are correlated with out-of-class anxiety in speaking English. Spending leisure time with Chinese friends can speed-up adaptation and reduce anxiety.
