Abstract

We examined ‘real-time’ listening to ‘happy’ and ‘sad’ songs on two types of duration judgment: reproducing just-seen target durations (between 2-16-s); and, estimating 10-s (while counting). We examined the relative contribution of both the emotive component and rhythmic pacing that differed between songs. Findings from children and adults are presented.
