Educational and Vocational Productivity Moderates the Relation between ADHD Persistence and Global Functional Impairment in Women

Abstract

Girls with ADHD display impairments across development, particularly global impairment. We examined whether academic/vocational productivity in late adolescence moderates predictive relations between ADHD symptom persistence and clinician-rated global impairment. Greater ADHD persistence predicted worse global impairment, but this effect was tempered by high academic/vocational productivity for the most persistent participants.
