Abstract

This research examined associations among parent-teen relationship quality, depression, and problem behavior. Adolescents completed questionnaires in 8th and 10th grade about closeness and conflict with their parents, depression, and problem behavior. Conditional process analysis showed a significant indirect effect of mother-teen closeness on problem behavior for girls, mediated by depression.
