Profiles of School Readiness and Implications for Children's Development of Academic, Social, and Engagement Skills

Abstract

This study identified profiles of school readiness present in entering kindergartners and explored the development of academic, social, and engagement skills of children across these profiles. Five school readiness profiles were detected. Profile membership was predicted by demographic variables and uniquely predicted change in achievement outcomes across the kindergarten year.
