Abstract

Higher Mexican orientation was associated with increased social support. Mother’s social support moderated the relationship between cultural stressors and depression. Mothers who reported less acculturative stress and higher social support, were less depressed. Findings suggest that cultural factors may be important in evaluating support during pregnancy to improve mental health.
