Misconceptions of Native Americans: The Role of Tribal Identification

This study is centered on a historical document analyses of social studies textbooks and reports on attitudes related to Native American culture and contemporary lives. Our findings first establish that cultural artifacts (textbooks) perpetuate limited coverage of Native Americans, maintaining inaccurate representations of the Native Americans' presence in contemporary life.
