Medication Adherence and Personality: A Machine Learning Approach to the Link between Personality Traits and Medication Adherence Behaviors

The ramifications of medication nonadherence are staggering, accounting for an estimated 125,000 deaths per year (McCarthy, 1998); however, the causes of medication nonadherence remain unclear. This study utilizes machine learning classification to develop a model of medication adherence from personality factors, demonstrating their predictive capabilities in a representative US sample.
