Abstract

Acute alcohol intoxication has been associated with deliberate self-harm (DSH) under laboratory conditions. The potential moderating effect of life-history of other directed aggression in this relationship was examined. Both experimentally manipulated blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and past aggression were associated with DSH on a laboratory task. No interaction effect emerged.
