Abstract

Recent research suggests that homesickness predicts a grief-like process and/or loneliness for many individuals, but more research is needed. This study found that multiple facets of homesickness predicted prolonged grief, but only dislike of one’s new setting predicted loneliness. Results suggests that different homesickness factors differentially predict psychological outcomes.
