Abstract

Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome (AWS) occurs in 27% of alcohol users. However, no study has examined the genetic contribution to the behaviors caused by withdrawal. Genomewide association analyses of data from the Collaborative Study on the Genetics of Alcoholism revealed a single significant variant and several nominal associations for specific symptoms.
