Talking about Race: Examining Malleability of Prejudice Mindset and Race-Related Conversations between Cross-Race Friends

We examined whether malleability of prejudice mindset (“Theories of Prejudice Scale”) is related to positive beliefs about a race-related discussion with a cross-race friend. Malleability of prejudice was negatively related to concerns about appearing racist, and positively related to both achieving discussion goals and beliefs that race-related conversations were beneficial.
