Working Hard or Hardly Working? How Emotion Affects Effort-Based Decision-Making

Abstract

This study examined the effect of emotion induction on effort expenditure for rewards. Results demonstrate that individuals in the negative emotion condition were significantly less willing to exert physical effort to obtain a monetary reward compared to those in the neutral and positive emotion conditions.
