Associations between Feelings of Social Connection, Validation, and Health in Chronic Illness

How do feelings of social connection and validation relate to health in a population experiencing chronic illness? 112 subjects with chronic autoimmune illness answered questions about their social feelings and health. Consistent with our hypotheses, greater feelings of social connection and validation were associated with better physical and mental health.
