Abstract

The current study used a word gambling task to investigate the influence of age-related stereotype threat on older adults' metacognition. Results indicated that stereotype threat negatively impacts memory monitoring and hinders calibration based on feedback. Furthermore, adults aged 50 to 65 are particularly susceptible to age-related stereotype threat.
