Physical Job Demands and Somatic Stress Syndromes: The Relevance and Roles of Skill Discretion

A survey of 343 employees examined the mediating role of skill discretion on manifestation of somatic stress syndromes resulting from physical job demands. Results, [Sobel z-value (z= -1.996, p<0.050) and Med-Graph], showed significant mediation suggesting that skill discretion may play a key role in the rehabilitation of somatic stress syndromes.
