Beliefs about How Abstract Thinking Shapes Learning Styles

Abstract

We present evidence that a high-level construal mindset (i.e., abstract thinking) is identified as favoring a preference for costly learning strategies over surface strategies, while holding a low-level construal mindset is associated with the choice of superficial and short-sighted strategies.
