Abstract

As people get older they favor positive over negative information in attention and memory. We tested whether this age-related positivity effect is moderated by cognitive capabilities. Preliminary results suggest the positivity effect is more pronounced for adults with high fluid cognitive capabilities. However, the magnitude of this effect is small.
